Hello!

I am a painter grateful to be living and working in beautiful Rhinebeck New York after retiring from a corporate career. I am also a founder of Art Gallery 71 in Rhinebeck, where my paintings can be seen in real life along with the work of a diverse group of local artists.

The act of painting brings me great joy. I have a deep respect for the formal elements of painting including the use of values (lights and darks) and color temperature to create the illusion of depth on a flat plane. In my most recent work, I am moving away from traditional realism toward a more interpretive and expressive use of color to celebrate my remembered feelings from everyday life.

I hope you enjoy my work and I appreciate you dropping by!

P.S. a few words about pricing…

As a young girl I remember wanting to purchase a $25 pencil sketch but it was out of reach for my family. That disappointment left me wanting my artwork to be accessible to a wide range of art lovers so I keep my prices comparatively low and offer a variety of sizes.
Most of my small works are under $200 and other pieces are usually between $200 and $2000, depending on size and framing.

Check the Studio Clearance page for periodic bargains as I make room for new work in my small studio.

If you love a piece let’s talk about how to make it yours!
